6 months on Saturday!

Well! Hello 5 1/2 months later! First off, our nephew, Ezekiel is a big 1 year old today, so Happy Birthday to him! We just can't believe how time flies. We are so happy he is healthy and developing the way he should be. (He was born 3 months premature). I love you Kristin-you are such a good mommy and you should be soooo proud of yourself. xoxo.

Hudson is AMAZING! He said da-da yesterday (mumbling of course), but now he says it anytime he babbles; he is crawling (just happened this week); he can stand up if he has something to hold on to at the right height (but I have to be guarding him from behind because his little feet don't stay on the ground at all times.); he giggles with me; he rolls; he jumps in his jumperoo; he's eating baby cereal; he's still breastfeeding so well; he naps in his crib during the day and sleeps with me in bed at night. It depends on the night as far as how often he nurses. sometimes it's every 2 hours, and other nights it's once or twice. I don't feel the need to "train" him to sleep through the night when Josh is working 3rd shift and I don't see any harm in it since we are in the same bed. I am half asleep while he nurses anyway. No worries...I don't roll over on him or anything. I sleep like a rock-don't move at all. He is working on getting his bottom teeth in. I can tell it bothers him. He is always chomping on my or Josh's fingers.

Wow...the last video I posted he was teeeney!! Here is a recent one!!

I forgot how long those take to upload! Jeeesh.

2.5 weeks old!

Our baby boy is growing and is 9 lbs now! He is still my little sugar bean, I also call him little goat because he makes goat noises...hehe. I love being a stay at home mommy and hope to continue to be able to do so. We bought a mobile home and it was placed on the farm today, so we own our home and don't have to pay that pesky rent bill anymore! Yay! Josh is working on the farm and as a baker at Panera, 3rd shift. He is tired, but happy about life and having a baby boy that he adores. I went to the doctor yesterday and have lost 32 of my 40 lbs that I gained while pregnant! I'm drinking a gallon of water a day, literally, and living off of bananas. My "system" has been irregular and so bananas are my best friend, and they're quick. I also thought I had a hemerroid, but learned it's a cyst of some kind. I couldn't tell you the name of it. It starts with a B. I am on Keflex, an antibiotic to try to shrink it, but if it doesn't go away he has to slice it open. Not fun. I would be awake for the slicing. I hope it goes away...it's painful. Back to happiness....I am soooo happy! I don't have baby blues at all! Josh and I are rockin' our situation and supporting each other as much as we can in our own ways that we need. When he's home and I'm nursing....which is always, but that's fine because I love holding him...he makes me food and refills my water. While he's away and I have time I keep the house clean. I know how it feels to come home from work and the house is a mess. It's just a good feeling to walk in to a clean place. I think it makes your mood better. I could type all night but I'm gonna go cuddle with my little bean until it's time for him to wake up for a midnight snack. I will try to get on here more often, but it probably won't happen since we're moving out this weekend! =) Much love to all. Thanks to all our parents and grandparents for your support and prayers. We are doing great.

Hudson is here!!!

Gotta run out the door to the doctor, just had to post this for everyone! He is amazing, and sweet--with well developed lungs. Loves to eat, smile and cuddle! We are loving every minute of him and being being the best parents possible for him. I have seen a new side of myself with him. Sigh...will post pics later. Muah!

Another day...

So I made it through another day. No baby Hudson yet. I think the Grandparents are relieved about that one. My parents, and Josh's mom won't be in town until this weekend for his scheduled birthday on the 8th. According to my mom I'm supposed to tell him to wait. Sorry mom, but I did just the opposite. I told him it was OK to come out at ANY TIME NOW.

Since last night I've had a sore, cramped up right leg and foot. I can't massage it out, and bananas aren't doing the trick. I have cankles. (Kristin, you now know what that means!) I take a long, hot bath every night and just lay there trying to relax as much as I can. I LOVE baths. Give me a bath everyday for the rest of my life and I will be a happy woman.

I still have things to do around the house, and thought I would be able to get them done this week, but it turns out I just need to sit with my feet up and nap when I can. It's nice being home and having Gracie here because I can sleep in my own bed while she's napping, and I can eat whatever I want! I'm usually frantic in the mornings searching for food to pack up to take with me and half the time I end up taking nothing and eating PB sandwiches or "borrowing" Anthony and Jennifer's food. ;) Thanks guys.

I'm sooooo thankful that we've been lucky enough to keep our power on this whole time! Everyone else in the area has lost it and gotten it back, or are still without it. I'm pretty sure that the only time ours went out was while we were at the doctor's office yesterday. We got home and the clock's were flashing on and off and the heat had dropped a couple of degrees. I think someone is watching out for this really pregnant lady. I'm grateful for that.

We have 90% sealed the deal on the trailer! Thanks to Daniel and Kristin for helping us out to make it happen so fast--we couldn't have done it without your support! I never thought I'd be so excited to move into a trailer! Never! But, we will own our own place, basically, immediately and that eliminates paying $500/month for rent. Now if that doesn't help after having our first baby, I don't know what else would! We just have to figure out a way to move it over to the farm and once that's done we have to be out of our apartment by March 1st. Jordan and Kim will be our new neighbors! Yay!

Also, my car insurance went down because I just turned 25 last month! Only a $21 difference, but still-I think it's pretty awesome.

I am looking forward to getting my body back. I am looking forward to holding our baby boy. Sigh. I'm looking forward to our life together. I'm so grateful to have found Joshua Pike. He's my everything. I feel like we are two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together. And we made a little person! Aaaah! I'm excited to see what features and characteristics he gets from each of us.

80% effaced!

So, today I called the doctor all nonchalantly just asking for some advice about the bloody show/mucous deal. I usually have to leave a message for the nurse line and then they call me back within 15-30 minutes. Phone rings. "Yeah, Dr. Greene wants you to come in RIGHT NOW!" Well that was at 2:00 today and they penciled me in for 3:30...but we didn't get there until 4:20. It was snowy and windy and the roads weren't ideal. Plus we had to pack our bag in case they needed to admit me to have the c-section (and I had to wait for some clothes to dry in the dryer!!). Dr. Greene had left the office by the time we got there so we got to see Dr. Butler and I like him alot! Better, actually, but whatever. He check me out and I am 2 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced! They hooked me up to check for contractions for about 10 minutes (didn't have any) and sent me home. He did say to pay close attention to contractions if they get close together or even just a little painful. 12 days ago I was completely closed up and 0% effaced, so it could go quick! That, and both doctors have said he is a big baby boy and that makes a difference if there's nothing holding him in anymore! (IE. the mucous plug and the thickness which refers to effacement.) I didn't understand what that meant until just now when we went in and he showed us a picture! Haha.

So now our bags are packed, the house is clean, the car seat is put together, and we know it will be soooon! If nothing happens before Friday I am supposed to go in to the hospital for blood work and another appointment at the doctor's office. I was all shaky and sweaty when scrambling around the house before we left! I knew it was coming in 5 days, but I wasn't ready RIGHT THEN! It was a mixture of excitement and panic that I had to pack and dry clothes and put the carseat together! (Thanks Jennifer for helping me with that!) Now I'm calm and ready.

On another note, we are buying a mobile home to put on the farm!! We are mailing the down payment to the owners tomorrow and we will be moved onto the farm by March! We are sooo excited to get rid of the monthly rent payment...especially at this time in our lives. We found it on Craigslist.com and it's actually just on the other side of Garrard County. We just have to figure out how to transport it over here. The people we are buying it from have been great and even offered some hand-me-down baby items!

Well, it's off to (possibly) the last night as a married couple before parenthood!

Jamie

Bloody what?

So there's this thing called the "bloody show" when you're pregnant. It comes at the end...when you're about to have the baby. It's also called a mucous plug. Mine started "showing" up last night. Still comin'....still contracting...and no baby falling out of my vagina. Just thought I would let you all know. I'm going to attempt to sleep now. 1 hour at a time.

Oh yeah, and I'm super excited that I get to watch Gracie at home these last few days! She loves Josh and our dog Cane so I think she'll just eat it up. I'm going to miss her...but looking forward to watching another little one here pretty soon...of OUR OWN! Yay!

I'll let you know if we have to make an emergency run to the hospital before Sunday. 5 days to go!!

Belly Cast

37 weeks pregnant-nice and round!

Don't worry, I have on undies! But, you can't tell because my belly overtakes EVERYTHING!

Thanks to Jennifer Allen, Grace's mom, for the gift of so many things throughout my pregnancy and most recently a professionally done belly casting!! Josh and I arrived at Baby Moon this morning and he took pictures of Donna putting a "cast" around my preggo belly!! We LOVE it and can't wait to paint it, or put blankets in it and lay Hudson in it to sleep once he arrives! Either way, it was a pleasant experience and I'm proud of myself for being confident enough to sling off all my clothes and feel comfortable in my own skin. I think as a pregnant, 25 year old woman I should be to that point in my life, and I'm happy to say that I am. A little self-booster there I wasn't expecting. With only 2 weeks to go life is filled with back pain, braxton hicks contractions, painful movements in my pelvic bone, waking every 1-2 hrs hours at night and moving really, really slow. Oh yeah and I have some awesome acne. I feel like I'm....well....I never had bad acne as a teen, so this is new. It bites! I am still giddy, though, about the thought of holding our baby boy...our baby...our son. Sigh. =) Life is good, indeed.

Welcome Mercy!

Mercy Kathleen Goodrich!!!!

7 lbs, 19", January 14th @4:10pm

The proud new parents! Kim & Jordan

Not so pretty...getting to the point where I don't care what I, or my house looks like. Can't move around as swiftly...haha. 35 1/2 weeks here.

Mercy was born at home with a midwife assisting Kim and Jordan through everything. Kim was 2 weeks to the date overdue, but her labor only lasted 3 hours total! It wasn't fun...no medications-all natural, but all worth it. Kim and Jordan are nestled quietly at home with their baby girl of only 2 days old. No hussle and bustle of the hospital or nurses coming in and out of the room to change her catheder. Just them. Aaaaah. It's beautiful and they are so happy they finally have their baby girl!! Congrats guys!
I on the other hand, am miserable. My stretch marks are climbing and itchy! Noooo! I sleep in 2 hour increments. It hurts to stand up, sit up, squat down, lean over--whatever. All worth it in the long run. I can't wait to hold our baby boy and lay on my back. haha. =) Josh has been magnificent. Just wonderful. I love him.
Oh yeah, and I turned 25 on January 11th. =)

Yes, I'm still alive!

Christmas Day: Lexie, Jared & Us w/Cane (our puppy!)
Lexie and my dad being silly

My baby shower from Kim

New Year's Eve with Ash and Justin!

Let the kisses begin for 2009!

Wow, it's been weeks since I've been on here! We went up to Indiana/Ohio for Christmas on a whim and didn't return until New Year's Day. I have been relaxing and sleeping as much as I can due to the large baby boy occupying my uterus. My c-section has been officially scheduled for February 9th at 9am! He will be delivered at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. That's all assuming he decides to wait another 4 weeks! At this point people are like, "Are you ready to pop?!" Uuuummm, yeah, I am, but he isn't! A whole 'nother month to go! I'm sure it will go just as fast as this whole 8 months has.

My 4th and final baby shower is this Saturday the 10th in Lexington. We have so many clothes and things/contraptions thrown in Hudson's room....it's just chaos! And I'm too tired to organize anything at this point. Josh is lucky I have managed to prepare 2/3 dinners this week, and one of them I had to verbally walk him through everything! "Get the chicken of the top shelf of the fridge and cover it with butter and spices. Bake in oven at 375 degrees for about an hour. Have this ready when I get home from work and I'll prepare a side dish." Haha. The word "spices" was lost in translation and when I got home he had only put butter on it! He said he wondered why I just wanted butter and figured it was just a craving or something. It turned out just fine. It's PVF organic chicken....you can't go too wrong there. ;)

Poor Kim was due December 31st and is still waiting as of now for her baby girl to arrive! January babies are pretty cool, though, so I understand!

My niece will be 4 years old tomorrow (Jan. 8th)! Josh's step-sister, Martina, will be 12 tomorrow. And Josh's mom, Kim, will be 50 tomorrow! I will be 25 on the 11th and my mom's birthday is the 25th. There's more...but I'll stop there!
Pregnancy joys and complaints: I still love feeling him move around and watching him alter the shape of my belly. I think it will feel weird with him not inside me. I think I will feel empty...but I am overjoyed at the idea of being a mother and holding him and caressing his soft face and watching him with his daddy! It is hard to stand up from sitting, painful, I mean. Painful to sleep on one side for too long, and painful to turn over, lift up a leg, and whatever else you can think of. I can definitely still stand to be pregnant for as long as it takes. I'm trying not to say "I'm ready to have this baby!" I think that will jinx it. So, when I'm ready, I'll say it.
Our neighbors moved away (tear) and left us their big screen HD TV! So we proceeded to get a digital converter box------stupid digital TV sucks! SUCKS! CRAPPY! Always cutting in and out like a scratched up DVD, which also SUCK! Can we go back to VHS and analog TV, please? I am NOT happy about the switch. Grrrr. We also bought a flat, fancy antenna that is supposed to help with all the crappy cutting in and out, but it still doesn't help. We just get basic channels, so we live by ABC, CW, KET, NBC, and CBS. That's Bachelor & True Beauty on Monday's, Biggest Loser on Tuesday's, Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice on Thursday's, and Numb3r's on Friday. Yes, we have become TV people.

I will be 35 weeks pregnant on my 25th birthday this Sunday.

That's all I have for now. Peace out.
